The Cambridge Federation is made up of the five secondary schools which serve the city of Cambridge, Manor Community College, Chesterton Community College, Parkside Community College, Coleridge Community College and Netherhall School and Sixth Form College.
It was launched in January 2004, with the aims of raising standards of attainment and promoting equality of opportunity for young people throughout the city of Cambridge. The Federation is part of a series of national pilots, funded by the DfES, Cambridgeshire County Council, and the Learning and Skills Council.
As well as its focus on young people, the Federation also plays an active role in the field of adult learning through its partnership with Cambridge Regional College. Courses are provided during the evenings and weekends at all the schools.
